Wheatland Bank is everything you do not want in a financial partner. My partner and I had a terrible experience while working with Allan Main. He is not empathetic to your needs, doesn't listen to what is being said, doesn't communicate properly clearly or effectively. After receiving a pre approval for a home loan for us and our 3 children, 2 of which are in pre school, we were denied 2 days before closing. The issue could've been avoided had there been better communication. He didn't read the rules of our loan program until the day before we were denied. 3 other lenders said we were so far down the road Wheatland should have done a portfolio loan and closed on the house. But no, it was never suggested. Just a shrug and an oh well. In summary, avoid Wheatland and Allan at all costs! In the end you don't matter, because he will be out playing with his band the next weekend while you're left wondering what happened and being out your earnest money. I will never have another account with this institution and would recommend you not either! I would prefer to leave a great review of a business, but there is zero reason to do so here. A second rate financial institution that doesn't care about you!

Wheatland- the worst banking experience I’ve ever had. That says a lot considering I have done business with places like Chase and WellsFargo. My partner and I went with Allan to get our home loan. First time home buyers. We have a lot of unique circumstances for our situation but we’re hopeful we’d done the work to qualify. After applying in October we were told to wait until January then we could get an approval. We waited. Eventually our buying agent was given the go ahead and we were told we had been approved. We put an offer in and a large bit of earnest money down. That’s when things went south. If we heard from Allan at all it was only to report a problem or ask for more documentation. Keep in mind the file was started in October. All those months could have been spent asking for this. Instead with only three weeks to close we got told we no longer qualified for the down payment assistance- that we needed to come up with almost $10,000 dollars. We felt scared and uncertain but we came up with the money. Thank goodness for a windfall. Next thing you know I’m being asked for a crazy amount of information on my work history. They said they needed five years worth, so I contacted old employers who had shut down their businesses, old managers who could help me with proof. I got the documents. Then I stopped getting regular or clear communication as to what was going on. No explanation as to why this was suddenly necessary. Five years worth of information. That was the biggest red flag. We gathered it all. Did our part, were told not to worry and that it was all going to be ok. They promised us it was ok. Two days to close we had the rug ripped out from under our feet. Two days to being homeowners. He called midday and told me “they” were denying the loan. We had already given our move out notice, set up utilities to start, and a multitude of other things one does when moving- like packing all our belongings. The home owner was on his way to a new home across the country that was contingent on this sale. Now they’re displaced as well. This was a Hail Mary loan that turned into such a blunder it’s disgusting. I was never lead to believe this could happen. When I asked if things were still going forward I was told not to worry. We’re now having to fight to get back the earnest money that we may never see again. We’re out over a thousand dollars not including that money. We still have to pay an appraisal fee(who knows how much that is because we were never told the cost) Not to mention feeling beyond heartbroken. We’ve had to bear the disappointment while also mitigating our children’s disappointment. They don’t understand. Two of our three kids are preschool age. All they knew was that mommy and daddy are sad and now we aren’t moving into a house. Do yourself a favor and don’t use Wheatland, for anything. They’re not about the customer, just the almighty dollar.

I feel the cashier had an attitude and choice when it came to holdinig my estate check. My branch has dealt with alot with my checks & decided to hold this on before Christmas for 7 working days. Lors of time & phone calls & Sbannon Monson in Wilbur wont budge. I seem to have no choice but to change my bank. Sad thing is I have more $ coming. Very very discourage over the control your tellers choose to have. Especially when the banks & lawyers are right next to each other. My understanding is Wheatland Bank isn't a part of the bigger banks group. Great.

A bank that will not conduct business with you unless you open an account and pay their monthly premiums... What a crock.....
